When the clock hits 4 PM and dinner still isn't figured out, the stress can feel overwhelming for busy moms. In this episode, I share the simple, flexible meal planning rhythm that has helped me feed a large family through allergies, medical seasons, and unpredictable days—without rigid schedules or guilt.
Do you ever look up at the clock and realize it’s late afternoon… and you still have no idea what dinner is going to be?
For many homeschool moms, the daily question of “What’s for dinner?” can feel like one more decision on an already full day. Traditional meal planning systems often add pressure instead of peace.
In this episode of Simplifying Mom Life, I’m sharing the simple approach that has helped me feed a large family without the stress of assigning meals to every single day of the week.
Instead of planning daily meals, I keep a flexible meal list and a few simple backups in the freezer. This small shift has made dinner decisions easier, calmer, and much more realistic for busy homeschool days.
I’ll also share a little about the Special Needs Moms Keepsake Planner I created, where I personally use this same approach each week with space for meal ideas, grocery lists, and flexible planning that actually works in real life.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by meal planning or tired of trying to stick to a rigid dinner schedule, this episode will give you a gentle alternative that might bring more peace to your evenings.
I’d love to hear your voice as I plan 2026 podcast episodes.
I created a short 2-minute survey so I can build future episodes around what Christian homeschool moms actually need right now.
As a thank-you, I’m giving away a hard copy of my Movie Schooling book.
